Copyediting and proofreading
PeopleSpeak: a publishing consultant company. I do various types of projects for them, such as light and heavy copyediting—including notes, bibliographies, and indexes—proofreading, and other publishing tasks. Titles I have worked on include Coach the Person, Not the Problem; Overwhelmed: Strategies for the Long Haul; The Outward Mindset: Seeing Beyond Ourselves, second edition; Mastering the Skills of Psychotherapy: A Deliberate Practice Manual; Resilience: One Family’s Story of Hope and Triumph Over Evil; Private Eye for the Bad Guy: My Short, Brutal Career as a Criminal Defense Investigator; and Leadership Tune-Up: Professional Development Insights as well as supplemental works for authors, such as blogs or workbooks.
Demographic Research: a peer-reviewed, open-access journal of population sciences published by the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock, Germany. I copyedit articles before they get published.
Amber Lotus Publishing: a publishing company specializing in mind-body-spirit themed calendars, greeting cards, notebooks, and journals. I proofread calendars, catalogs, and marketing copy, focusing on grammar as well as design.
Oregon English Journal: a biannual journal published by the Oregon Council of Teachers of English focusing on theory, research, and teaching practices. I copyedit each issue.
Elite Editing: an editing service for both companies and individuals. I copyedited and proofread various projects for a number of clients using their services.
Rethinking Schools: a publisher that focuses on texts for educators. I copyedited and proofread their book Rethinking Ethnic Studies.
Ooligan Press: an award-winning not-for-profit general trade press in the Pacific Northwest. I have done various editing and proofreading projects here for both print and epub books, including Bikes to Brew: Portland’s Artisan Economy, 50 Hikes in the Tillamook and Clatsop Forests, and Sleeping in My Jeans.
Empowered: A Student-Centered Anthology & Handbook for College Writers: an open access textbook for writing courses. I worked directly with the author on copyediting and proofing.
PSU’s Native American Student and Community Center Art Catalog: a catalog put together by students and advisers to celebrate their community center’s art and empower student success through culturally relevant engagement. I heavily copyedited their new book detailing the exhibit’s new art and artifacts.

Various blogs, including Stacey Lane and Last Call Productions. I edit to maintain a consistent voice and accurate grammar.
Oregon English Journal: a biannual journal published by the Oregon Council of Teachers of English focusing on theory, research, and teaching practices. I created a new interior template and issue for their Spring 2018 edition and continue to design each new issue.
Ooligan Press: I have also done design work for this press, including the interior book design for Sleeping in My Jeans and photo preparation for 50 Hikes in the Tillamook and Clatsop Forest.
